Looking for a new ride to cruise through the streets of Mechanicsburg, Harrisburg, and Carlisle? You certainly have a lot of options available, but crossovers continue to be arguably the most impressive class of car available. Some may be a bit intimidated by their size, but there are subcompact models available that should alleviate all those concerns. You just have to find the right one.

One of the most impressive subcompact crossovers on the market right now is the 2019 Kia Soul. As the name suggests, Kia poured their heart and soul into this model, so you can be sure it has all the incredible features you'd expect from Kia-plus a little extra. You just need to make sure you're getting the right version that best fits your automotive needs. Learn more about the Kia Soul trim levels and discover which is right for you.

Soul Base

At the bottom of the Soul trim levels is no pushover. The Base model offers quite a bit, including its powerful and efficient 1.6L DOHC 16-valve I4 engine that offers 130 horsepower with 118 lb-ft of torque. It comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, but you can upgrade to an electronically controlled 6-speed automatic if you prefer.

Inside, you'll find some exciting technology like the standard 5-inch touchscreen. Even at the base level, however, you have the option to upgrade to a 7-inch screen with the UVO infotainment operating system. You don't have to upgrade at all to get voice recognition and Siri® Eyes Free technology, though, as they both come standard.

Soul Plus

The first thing you might notice about the Plus trim is the enhanced engine. It features a 2.0L counterpart to the Base's engine that produces an impressive 161 horsepower with 150 lb-ft of torque. Automatic transmission is standard here, along with Sportmatic, which is an advanced system that makes shifting smoother.

Your infotainment system comes standard with a 7-inch screen, plus Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. The Plus also features Drive Mode Select standard, which allows you to choose between Normal, Eco, and Sport modes to alter your driving experience. Remote Keyless Entry is also standard here, so getting in and out of your Soul is easy.

Soul Exclaim

For the best of the best, opt for the Soul Exclaim. Under the hood of this crossover, you'll find the 1.6L inline 4-cylinder engine equipped with a supercharger. With all that strength, you can enjoy a solid 201 horsepower with 195 lb-ft of torque. As if that wasn't enough, this is the only trim that comes with 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Just about all the optional features from before are standard on this trim, like the Supervision Meter Cluster with 4.3-inch Thin Film Transistor Color LCD display. This second screen can offer essential information all in one convenient location. Leather seats are standard, of course, along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.
