From the stroke of a pen on a blank sheet of paper, to the expert hands of a design engineer, to the concept floor... The creation of the 2017 Kia Sportage has been a long time coming. But, fortunately for all of us here in Mechanicsburg, PA, it's nearly here.

While the third-generation Kia Sportage provided a practical, affordable, and capable option for Pennsylvania drivers seeking a versatile crossover SUV, it never had quite the "oomph" of some of its brand siblings. After the Sorento and the Optima received edgy new facelifts, it was time for the Sportage to step into the spotlight.
We approve.
The 2017 Kia Sportage will debut officially at the Frankfurt Motor Show starting on the 15th of September, but the automaker kindly provided us with the video above to help keep us satisfied until then. We'll be watching it a few times--ok, a few dozen times--in the next few weeks for sure, until we can lock down just when we can expect the new model to land at McCafferty Kia of Mechanicsburg.
