Forte vs Focus
Many people are interested in comparing the 2014 Ford
Focus to the Kia, so let's go ahead and do just that. These are both excellent
cars with much to offer, and in such a competitive market, any edge a car
manufacturer can give itself counts plenty.
Engine Advantage
The Focus has always been known for
it's acceleration and power, and this model is no different. It has a 2.0
4-cylinder engine, with 160-horsepower. Another great feature of the Focus is
its handling. This model is known for exceptional ease of driving. One of the
drawbacks, however, is that its automatic transmission can perform a bit on the
quirky side as far as response goes. This is not a huge problem on the highway,
but when accelerating, it can be annoying.

Interior Features
People who love the stylish exterior of the Focus will
not be disappointed by the interior. This car's interior is both high-tech and
distinguished, and offers plenty of fun hi-tech options. One problem is that
the dashboard controls, and the audio in particular, can take some getting used
to. While the front seats are luxurious and comfortable, it would be nice if
the leg room in the back was extended a bit. All in all, especially when you
look at the starting price, the Focus is a great car to look into for the savvy
buyer.
Most Improved
On the other hand, with the Fred Beans Kia right here in
Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, it will be quite interesting to have a look at the
Kia. The Kia came from South Korea, and began appearing here in the United
States as a viable option for thrifty car buyers. However, over the years the
Kia has improved its looks and performance by leaps and bounds while still
remaining a competitive option, price-wise.
Forte Features
The new model is sleeker than ever,
and its rather long wheelbase allows more leg room in the back than the Focus.
The standard features also offer a plethora of goodies, including air
conditioning, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, a six speaker sound system
with a CD player, and Bluetooth. The Kia also offers more horsepower than the
Focus, with 173 vs. 164 for the Focus. Also, in testing, this model got up to
60mph much quicker than the Focus. All in all, both are pretty good cars, but
with the added room and power, plus a smoother transmission, you would have to
give the nod to the Kia.
