Kia Kue Concept Car Reviewed
Conceptual crossover
The Kia Kue is a mid-size crossover concept SUVÂ meant to deliver on both design and performance. Never to rest on its laurels and desperate to be known for more than just a good value and great warranty, Kia has pulled out all the stops to deliver a beautiful machine that performs on the inside as well as it stands out on the outside. Representatives have said that the Kia Kue concept car is indicative of a new revolution in design, and at this point, it's difficult to argue.
Award-winning design
If you're familiar with the Kia Kue concept car, it's probably because of its original unveiling in 2007 at Detroit's North American International Auto Show. It was at this show that the Kue became the first Korean car to be given a design award -- the "Eyes on Design" award, to be precise. More importantly, of course, is that it won over the crowd and became one of the standouts of the show.
Exterior beauty
Although the Kia Kue concept car doesn't seem to be based on any specific platform, it does share similarities with Hyundai's Sante Fe. Not that there's anything wrong with that. The platform may be similar, but changes have been made to a number of exterior features that give the crossover SUV a unique look. With a wheelbase of 114 inches and 22-inch wheels, the machine looks as sturdy as it feels. Whether it's sitting in your driveway or zipping along the freeway, it's sure to turn some heads.
Interior excellence
Since the Kue is a concept vehicle, details may change once it reaches production, but you can bet that Kia will deliver a number of bells and whistles that are common on its most popular cars. You can expect the interior look to be dark, with highlights that accentuate everything you need to access on the dashboard and instrument panel. Add to that a programmable touch pad, controls that sense your movements and a technological interface that either the driver or passenger can adjust.
